Ludmila’s costume

Ludmila’s costume

For her solo show

Ludmila knew I liked to sew... and for a brief time I worked in the wardrobe department of the Victorian Opera... as a junior seamstress and finisher.
She asked me to make a costume, that could function as a prop for her autobiographical show, about an extraordinary life.
We turned her pencil sketch into a screen for other imagery.
I am always grateful when I am asked to sew something original; daughters of friends asking for a ball gown, or actors wanting a special costume.
It is the joy of pushing fabric through a sewing machine and creating a 3D sculpture to hang on a body....

I'd be very happy if you'd share this!
